Kazuo People's Square

The People's Square is one of the key public welfare projects promised by the county Party committee and government in 2008, and also another strategic move by Kazuo to develop its urban space with high standards.

The People's Square is designed to take full advantage of the mountain-and-water terrain of the ancient Lizhou city, showcasing the distinctive cultural landscape of Kazuo County. It highlights the ingenious fusion of traditional Chinese culture with modern civilization, incorporating landscape features from famous squares across China. Based on a design philosophy that uses clear water to improve ecology, gardens to create scenery, and sculptures to express culture, the square is built in a natural, artistic, and human-centered architectural style. It serves as a cultural leisure space tailored to the modern lifestyle and aesthetic preferences of the people of Kazuo.

The People's Square has four entrances—east, west, south, and north. Entering the square, you’ll find a central landscape boulevard running from north to south. The north entrance features a 6-meter-high, 20-meter-long sculpture titled “Prosperous Lizhou,” which depicts the unity of the Mongolian and Han peoples in creating a flourishing Lizhou. Crafted using traditional paper-cutting and openwork carving techniques, the sculpture reflects the profound cultural heritage and distinct regional characteristics of the area. The central main square, spanning 44,832 square meters and encircled by 12 ornamental columns, houses the “Rippling Water Rhyme” sculpture at its heart. Around the sculpture are dynamic musical fountains adorned with exquisitely crafted landscape lighting. Twelve finely made white marble bridges connect the fountains to the surrounding areas of the square. The square features convenient pathways and well-equipped facilities. Lush trees shade the surroundings, while green lawns and vibrant flowers bloom throughout, bringing vitality to every corner of the space. Unique sail-shaped lanterns, emblematic of Kazuo’s charm, are positioned on the east and west sides of the square. Scattered locust flower lamps, classic lanterns, searchlights, and tall poles further decorate the area, adding a touch of beauty, warmth, and romance to the nighttime ambiance. Being here offers a truly refreshing and enchanting experience.
