Guandahai Ethnic Village is a national AA-level tourist attraction.

Guandahai has a long history. In 1635, it became the site of the first government of the Khalakha Left Wing Banner, and is now a national AA-level tourist attraction. With 67% of its population being Mongolian, the area boasts a rich ethnic culture and is recognized as the “Number One Hometown of Mongolian Chess (Shatar)” in China. The region is abundant in tourism resources and blessed with exceptional natural conditions, featuring the mighty Ling River and the continuous Daqing Mountain. It is renowned as a “Land of Fish and Rice.” The local Tibetan Buddhist temple, Jixiang Temple, attracts many worshippers, while the spectacular “Nine-Turn Yellow River Lantern Array” and the annual Nadam Fair are widely celebrated.

In recent years, the Nadam Fair — a traditional Mongolian sporting event — has flourished in the Guandahai Farm, becoming a beloved activity among the Mongolian community. The fair includes events such as Mongolian chess, archery, wrestling, and tug-of-war, attracting nearly a thousand athletes to compete in various disciplines. In the evening, a grand Yellow River Lantern Festival and bonfire party are held. The Nadam Fair has become an important tourism festival brand in Kazuo County, gaining increasing recognition and cultural influence, and greatly boosting the local economy, culture, and tourism industry.

From May to June each year, the rapeseed flowers in Guandahai are in full bloom. Vast fields of golden-yellow blossoms fill the landscape, exuding a delicate fragrance that refreshes the senses. The endless golden hues, the warm and intoxicating sunlight, birds chirping, willows turning green, and flowers blooming together create a breathtaking sea of rapeseed blossoms.
