Site of the Ancient County of Bailang

The site of the ancient county of Bailang is a cultural heritage protection unit of Liaoning Province.

The site of the ancient county of Bailang is located in Huangdaoyingzi Village, Pingfangzi Town, Kazuo County, and has been approved as a provincial-level cultural heritage protection unit.

The three cities—Bailang City, Guangdu City, and Shicheng—are distributed in a V-shape, each about 25 kilometers apart, and all belonged to the Jiande Commandery of the Northern Wei Dynasty, with its administrative center situated in Bailang City.

Guangdu City and Shicheng were both small earthen cities that existed for only a short period. Aside from historical records, their exact locations can no longer be verified. However, Bailang City once served as the seat of a commandery and was an important stronghold of the Yan Kingdom. Its ruined walls remained standing until after the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Artifacts unearthed include items from the Han, Wei, and Jin dynasties. Their time spans and relative locations align with historical records, and the seal of the “Magistrate of Bailang” serves as definitive evidence.

Protected area: within the city and within 20 meters outside the outer base of the city wall.

Construction control zone: a Class I construction control zone extends 50 meters beyond the protected area, and a Class II construction control zone extends 150 meters beyond the Class I zone.
