Beijing Eunuch Culture Exhibition
Destination Introduction
The Beijing Eunuch Culture Exhibition Hall (Tian Yi’s Tomb) is located in the western section of Moshikou Street in Shijingshan District. It is the tomb of Tian Yi, the Ming Dynasty’s Director of the Directorate of Ceremonial. Constructed in the 33rd year of the Wanli Emperor’s reign (1605), the tomb complex faces south and consists of the Xian De Shrine, the Shou Yu (tomb area), and the Ci Xiang Nunnery. Surrounded by a stone wall, the site covers an area of 6,000 square meters and houses the tomb of Tian Yi as well as five accompanying eunuch tombs. The Ci Xiang Nunnery is an auxiliary structure.
Although Tian Yi’s Tomb has withstood 400 years of history, its architectural layout remains largely intact. The tomb complex is renowned for its stone carvings and sculptures, notable for their grand design, exquisite detail, and rich content.

The Xian De Shrine consists of a gate tower, ornamental columns, stone statues, the Lingxing Gate, a stele pavilion, and shrine halls. Its craftsmanship features ingenious design and vivid, intricate carvings.
The Shou Yu includes the tomb gate, a spirit way, and a cluster of tombs. The tomb enclosure, the Five Offerings altar, and the offering table are all adorned with exquisitely crafted patterns depicting mythological tales and historical stories. The designs are novel and unique, with carvings so lifelike and masterfully executed that they are considered treasures of Chinese stone carving art.
