Balin Lama Mountain National Forest Park is located north of Balin Railway Station on the Binzhou Railway line within the territory of Yakeshi City, 187 kilometers from Yakeshi City. The Binzhou Railway and National Highway 301 pass through here, making transportation convenient. It is 244 kilometers from Hailar District. It is a unique stone forest landscape within Yakeshi City and is a national forest park. The park covers a total area of 2,903 hectares and consists of 28 uniquely shaped, steep, and exquisitely formed rocky peaks. The main peak, when viewed from afar, resembles a chanting lama sitting with his back to the wall, hence the name Lama Mountain.

Lama Mountain National Forest Park is highly distinctive. The scenic area features majestic peaks, beautiful mountains, clear waters, and vast forests, renowned for its towering and exquisite beauty. The rocks on Lama Mountain take on a myriad of forms; imposing peaks such as Lama Peak, Immortal Platform, Stegosaurus Rock, and Awakening Lion Rock are awe-inspiring in their grandeur. Narrow passages like One-Line Sky, Immortal Bridge, and Cliff Cave are steep and perilous, inspiring both fear and wonder. Other formations such as Spirit Turtle Rock, Heavenly Dog Rock, Divine Pagoda Rock, Longevity Rock, Treasure-Seeking Rock, Cave Heaven Rock, and Waterfall Rock are strikingly lifelike, evoking fondness. Still others, like Reclining Horse Rock, Incense Burner Rock, Jade Screen Peak, and Embroidered Ball Stone, are vividly expressive, captivating the eye.

The peaks of Lama Mountain are naturally formed, arranged horizontally, vertically, and at various angles. Some feature a harmonious interplay of rock, water, and forest, while others stand as unique sights in their own right. Viewed from different distances, heights, or directions, they present varying sceneries. Some attractions are hidden or only partially revealed, making them hard to fully appreciate without visiting in person, giving the feeling of “a beauty hidden away in seclusion.” The clear Yalu River flows in front of the mountain, complementing the spectacular peaks and beautiful waters. Looking up, the mountain peaks seem to pierce the clouds, where “mist drifts among the hills and clear water drips down the rocks.” Towering cliffs display intricate rock patterns, with large pines hanging upside down in crevices, their branches reaching out bravely against the wind. From afar, Lama Mountain presents a scene of lush trees, steep and peculiar rocks, endless blue waters, and expansive skies — a fairyland of the north and a marvel of the Greater Khingan Mountains.
