Bridge Culture Square The Yudai Park, where Bridge Culture Square is located, was initially built in 2000 and has so far received a total investment of 6 million yuan. The park covers a total area of 240,000 square meters, including 120,000 square meters of water surface. With clear river water, lush greenery, bridge platforms, pavilions, winding paths, and serene surroundings, it is a popular leisure spot for local residents. Especially in summer, boating on the river feels like being in the water towns of southern China. Elegant visitors sip wine as if in a painting, forgetting all worldly troubles.

Continue walking 800 meters to reach the Mingyue Long Dyke scenic area. The Mingyue Long Dyke is an artificially constructed site located on the eastern bank of the Yalu River in the urban area, featuring a picturesque embankment garden landscape. It stretches 10 kilometers from the Rainbow Bridge in Xiushui Scenic Area in the north to the Xing’an Bridge in the southern part of the city. In summer, the air is fragrant with blossoms, offering a tranquil and elegant atmosphere. Lush trees and dense vegetation on both sides create a verdant corridor. To the west of the dyke, the Yalu River flows gently, attracting swimmers throughout the day, providing endless relaxation. At sunset, as twilight descends, couples and visitors seeking tranquility stroll along the Mingyue Long Dyke and the willow-lined banks, enjoying the pleasant ambiance.

Adjacent to the Mingyue Long Dyke is the Bridge Culture Leisure Square. This square consists of five parts: a memorial monument, a leisure plaza, the bridge approach, a hardened dam road, and slope protection. It covers a total area of 13,800 square meters, including 7,000 square meters of green space, with a total investment of 2 million yuan.

The original Yalu River Stone Bridge, which once spanned the Yalu River and connected the eastern and western parts of the city, was destroyed by a once-in-a-century flood on July 27, 1998. The new Zhalantun Bridge over the Yalu River commenced construction on April 8, 1999, and was completed on September 27 of the same year. It is a prestressed reinforced concrete simply supported beam bridge, with a main span of 325.74 meters, a deck width of 18 meters, nine piers and eight spans, and 275 meters of approach roads on the east and west sides. The bridge is elegantly designed, resembling a long rainbow lying across the waves, spanning the two banks of the Yalu River. At the eastern end of the bridge stands a towering Flood Control Monument. A bas-relief of workers, peasants, and soldiers in unity—hand in hand—symbolizes the solidarity and determination of people of all ethnicities in fighting the flood together. Beneath their feet, carvings of surging river waves depict the destructive force of the catastrophic flood. The entire sculpture is majestic and uniquely designed, commemorating the efforts of the people of all ethnicities in Zhalantun in overcoming the once-in-a-century flood. It also bears an inscription personally written by Buhe, former Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.
