The 2012–2013 National Snowboarding Halfpipe Championships, hosted by the Winter Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China and organized by the Inner Mongolia Winter Sports Management Center, kicked off at Jinlongshan Ski Resort in Zhalantun.
On the day of the event, Jinlongshan Ski Resort was bustling with people, as top snowboarders from across the country gathered here to compete for national titles. Over the course of the three-day competition, 60 athletes from teams including the Xinjiang Kanas Team, the Heilongjiang Snow Sports Training Center Team, and the Harbin Sport University Team will vie for championships in four events: individual technical difficulty compulsory moves, individual technical variety compulsory moves, individual freestyle runs, and team events.
It is reported that this is the first time in 30 years that the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has hosted a national-level snowboarding halfpipe championship. The staging of this competition will also greatly promote the prosperity and development of winter sports in the region.
