Alpine Wetlands

Widely distributed across the Chaihe Scenic Area, these wetlands range in size from 2 to 20 square kilometers, forming numerous patches scattered throughout the region. The wetlands feature typical inland lake wetland scenery, with landscapes that change dramatically with the seasons. In spring and summer, reeds grow lush and the grasslands stretch far and wide; in autumn and winter, migratory birds gather in flocks and fragrant flowers bloom. The defining characteristic of these landscapes is that when water levels rise, they form lakes, and when they recede, they leave behind expansive marshy flats crisscrossed with grasses, rich in vegetation and biodiversity, serving as habitats for migratory birds during spring, summer, and autumn.
