Emerald Pool

Emerald Pool, also known as the Honghua'erji River Waterfall, is located 37 kilometers west of Chaihe in Moon Town, at the source of the Honghua'erji River, at an elevation of 930 meters. It forms a waterfall with a nearly 10-meter drop and a width of 3 to 5 meters. The bedrock that forms the waterfall consists of Jurassic andesite and basalt dating back 140 million years. The turbulent waters of the Chao'er River rush down, with a silvery cascade plunging into the pool. The pool water is clear and deep, with mist rising from its surface. Towering ancient trees line both sides of the pool, and the riverbed below the waterfall flattens and widens, accumulating water into a broad pool with a diameter of about 30 meters. Visitors to this spot feel as if they’ve entered a hidden paradise, making it an ideal place for stream wading and camping.
