Nanmachang Reservoir (Xiangshan Reservoir)
Commonly known as Xiangshan Reservoir, Nanmachang Reservoir was built in 1976 by the Shijingshan District government to solve the water shortage in the Heishitou area. Located along the Xiangbala (a trekking route from Xiangshan to Badachu) trail, it is a less crowded alternative compared to Xiangshan Park. In autumn, the red leaves on the surrounding mountains are also very beautiful, offering gorgeous autumn foliage views. The area has a pleasant environment — suitable for spring outings and autumn leaf-peeping, and you can also fish and enjoy the scenery here, making it a great relaxation spot in the suburbs of Beijing.
