Introduction: Wuzhishan Li Village Natural Village is located on the outskirts of Tuncheng City, just a 2-kilometer walk along the north bank of the Nansheng River. Surrounded by lush green mountains and vast fields, the area boasts idyllic pastoral scenery and is a natural village where the Li ethnic group resides. Originally a "He Mu" system village, it still retains large areas of traditional boat-shaped thatched cottages. It is said that the ancestors of the Li people originally lived on boats in Shanghai, and later moved to land. To commemorate their seafaring ancestors, they built boat-shaped houses on land. The men in the village grow long hair, tied in a topknot at the forehead, and wrap their heads with red or black cloth. They wear collarless, front-opening tops. The women have facial tattoos, wear patterned tube skirts, and don embroidered headscarves. Their tops have no buttons and are front-opening. They enjoy adorning themselves with earrings, necklaces, and bracelets. The women in the village are skilled in weaving and embroidery, using simple tools and their dexterous hands to create beautiful Li brocade handicrafts such as scarves, tops, and pomegranate-patterned tube skirts. The villagers are also known for their singing and dancing—their mountain song duets feature beautiful and lyrical melodies, while traditional dances such as the "Picha Dance," "Rice-Pounding Dance," and "Money-Bell and Double-Sword Dance" are vibrant and colorful. The unique nose flutes and bronze flutes produce a distinctive ethnic style and strong sense of daily life. After the liberation, clothing customs gradually changed—women only wear traditional ethnic costumes during festivals or when receiving tourists, and no longer practice facial tattooing. Almost all residents now live in tile-roofed houses, and both men and women attend school. This is one of the more advanced areas within the Li ethnic region. The tourism village is run by the Li people and now features bamboo houses and other structures with Li ethnic characteristics. It displays various traditional Li tools for labor, daily life, and entertainment. Visitors can also watch Li dance performances and purchase uniquely ethnic handicrafts. The tourism village is rich in cultural flavor and well worth a visit.
