The Japanese fortification group in Nigang Village is located on the hill behind Nigang Village in Luohu District, Shenzhen. It consists of five bunkers and pillboxes connected by passageways. After the outbreak of the Pacific War, around the summer of 1942, the Japanese forces stationed in Bao'an built this complex on a hilltop overlooking and monitoring the eastern section of the Bao-Tai Highway to strengthen communication with their counterparts in Dongguan and Huizhou. At that time, a large number of villagers were forced to carry construction materials up the mountain, a memory still vivid for many elders today. The fortifications are now well-preserved.
