Splendid China Shenzhen is a next-generation large-scale theme park developed by Overseas Chinese Town Group. It is a National AAAAA Tourist Attraction, covering an area of 350,000 square meters with a total investment of 800 million RMB. Especially after the grand opening of Phase II on May 1, 2002, the park, with its brand attributes of “fun, fashion, youth, energy, mystery, and fantasy,” quickly became a sensation across the Pearl River Delta, Hong Kong, Macau, and the rest of China, rapidly establishing itself as the most advanced, stylish, and captivating modern theme park in the nation. This success has led to several milestones for the park in China’s theme park industry: being the first to implement a one-ticket system for all rides, pioneering night-time illuminated parades, and achieving 1 million visitors and over 100 million RMB in revenue within just 100 days of Phase II’s opening. This year, Splendid China Shenzhen kicked off the season with outstanding results — welcoming 520,000 visitors in the first three months of 2003, an 86% increase compared to the same period last year. The visitor profile highlights group travel, more visitors from Hong Kong, family outings, repeat visits, and steady foot traffic. According to a Spring Festival sampling survey, 30% of visitors were repeat guests, 90% came as families or with friends and relatives, and 90% expressed interest in returning. These impressive achievements have drawn attention from industry professionals. Many renowned theme parks and attractions have sent teams to study Splendid China Shenzhen’s operational model. The park has even been hailed by experts as China’s most promising theme park.
