Splendid China · Folk Culture Village is a base for patriotic education.

Shenzhen Splendid China Folk Village is a large-scale cultural theme park jointly established by Hong Kong China Travel Service (Holdings) International Ltd. and Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Town Co., Ltd. It is located at No. 9003 Shennan Avenue, Nanshan District, Shenzhen, a place of stunning scenery. It is currently the world's largest and most content-rich miniature scenic area in real-life scale, covering an area of 450 acres, divided into the main scenic area and the comprehensive service area. The 82 attractions are distributed according to their geographic locations on the map of China, most built at a scale of 1:15. The attractions in “Shenzhen Splendid China” are arranged based on their actual locations in China, making the entire park resemble a giant map of China. These attractions can be divided into three major categories: scenic and historical sites, natural landscapes, and folk villages and customs.

Splendid China · Folk Culture Village

Miniature versions of attractions from all over China—nearly 100 sites in the park are laid out according to their geographical positions on the map of China, making the whole park resemble a huge Chinese map. Though not as detailed as the real sites, it allows visitors to experience a range of iconic locations within just a few dozen steps—from the solemn Ming Tombs to the picturesque landscapes of the Li River, from the majestic Potala Palace at the highest altitude to the dramatic cliffs of the Three Gorges, from the towering Leshan Giant Buddha to the extensive grottoes of the Mogao Caves... Allowing you to take in the vast diversity of China’s north and south in just a few hours—convenient and time-saving.

Adjacent to Splendid China is the China Folk Culture Village, which showcases the architectural styles and ethnic flavors of all 56 ethnic groups in China, with each group represented in its own unique village. The village offers free performances by authentic ethnic performers throughout the day, presenting traditional culture in its most genuine form. Highlights include the "Oriental Rainbow" show in the central theater in the afternoon and the "Dragon and Phoenix Dance China" performance in the Phoenix Theater in the evening.

1. A single ticket grants access to both Splendid China and the Folk Culture Village. Performances within the various ethnic villages in the Folk Culture Village are free. Park opening hours: 9:00–21:00 (Splendid China closes at 18:00). 2. Sightseeing carts are available inside the scenic area at a price of 20 RMB per person, with half-price tickets for children.

The Folk Culture Village hosts a Water-Splashing Festival every July and August. Visitors can enjoy performances and participate in the water-splashing activities. Remember to bring a change of clothes. Tools for water-splashing and raincoats are also sold on-site. 3. The “Tianyi Pavilion” restaurant, the largest in the China Folk Culture Village, mainly serves Yunnan-style cuisine. Group meal packages cost around 25 RMB per person, while individual meals average about 40 RMB per person.

4. Many villages within the Folk Culture Village offer free cultural performances. It is recommended that you pick up a park brochure at the entrance so you can plan your route efficiently and not miss your favorite shows.

“Legend of the Desert” is China’s first film-style stunt live horse show.

Set in the early years of the Yuan Dynasty, in the frontier desert city—an immortal legend of justice triumphing along the ancient Silk Road, continuing an epic saga of glory.

Stunning and mind-blowing visual effects, dynamic and humorous fight sequences, witty and engaging 3D interactions, intense battle scenes of warhorses clashing, and the fantastical techniques of dragons soaring through the skies and diving into the earth—all embody a pioneering spirit that challenges the audience’s imagination.

Stories carried on the bells of camel caravans, legends from the ancient Silk Road, heroic deeds upholding justice, and hymns celebrating ethnic unity—experience it all firsthand.

The grand ethnic costume dance poetry “Oriental Splendor”

“New Oriental Splendor” is a large-scale ethnic costume dance poetry created by the Splendid China Ethnic Art Troupe, integrating ethnic costumes, dance, music, and stage design. It artfully weaves in the poetic elements of “wind, flowers, snow, and moon” according to China’s regional divisions of east, south, west, and north. Through romantic poetic expression, exquisite costume craftsmanship, innovative stage techniques, and distinctive artistic features, it showcases the clothing cultures and local customs of China’s various ethnic groups. Performances are typically held daily at 17:00 and last about 60 minutes.

The grand Chinese variety epic “Dance of the Dragon and Phoenix”

Drawing on over a decade of performance creation experience at Splendid China, this show uses fresh creativity and methods to brilliantly present Chinese folk dances, music, acrobatics, magic, lantern displays, and unique skills. It represents another groundbreaking achievement in large-scale Chinese performing arts. A spectacular event crafted with hundreds of millions of yuan, it challenges the highest realms of Chinese ethnic artistic performance. A gala that cannot be found in memory, only imagined—a performance that moves the soul beyond refusal. Typical performance time: 19:30, duration 60 minutes.

From the train station: Take Sightseeing Bus Line 1 (2 RMB fare, 5 RMB for the full route), or Bus Line 101 (starting at 2 RMB, up to 8 RMB for the full route).

From the airport: Take Bus Line 327 directly to Splendid China.

If you’re coming from Luohu (train station, Luohu Port) or Futian (Huanggang Port), get off at the “Konka Group” stop, cross the overpass, and walk 100 meters west. If you’re traveling from Nantou or Shekou, get off at the “Splendid China” stop.
