Nantou Guan Yu Temple

Nantou Guan Yu Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Xin'an Guan Yu Temple (also known as Nantou Guan Yu Temple) is located on the east side just outside the southern gate of the ancient city of Xin'an.

Built in the 40th year of the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty (1612) by Commander Zhang Wanji, according to the Jiaqing-era "Xin'an County Annals": “The Guan Yu Temple… one is located to the left of the military training ground outside the southern gate, built in the 40th year of Wanli by Commander Zhang Wanji.” The original surviving buildings consist of a three-bay, two-courtyard structure with an open pavilion, including the front hall, open pavilion, and rear hall. The rear hall has been destroyed. The temple measures 13 meters in width and 25.3 meters in depth. During the Republican era, it was used as the “Bao'an County Council.” It was renovated in 1997 and is now managed by the Nantou Ancient City Management Office.
