OCT Ecological Square

OCT Ecological Square is an open leisure park covering an area of approximately 4.6 hectares. Designed to be a first-class urban square, it takes ecological concepts as the foundation and main theme of its design, using simple and bright design techniques to reflect the new ideas of 21st-century urban construction.

OCT Ecological Square is composed of three main parts: natural scenic areas, man-made scenic areas, and an underground parking garage. Both the artificial and natural landscapes within the square are built along the original terrain, featuring undulating surfaces that interweave with one another, effectively transforming the original landform and surrounding environment. The roof covered with soil-based planting, the main building walls decorated with natural materials such as brick, wood, and stone, the creatively designed and uniquely distinctive outdoor public activity spaces, and the natural forms of hills, streams, waterfalls, woods, green spaces, and flowers all fully showcase the square's natural ecological essence. It provides a beautiful, pleasant, and wild leisure environment for modern urban dwellers. As visitors stroll through the ecological square, they are greeted by the breath of spring and the rhythm of greenery, feeling as though they have escaped the hustle and bustle of the city and arrived in a picturesque mountain field. It allows people to enjoy the embrace of nature amid their busy urban work and life, while also enabling teenagers to step out of classrooms and textbooks during their intense studies. Through close contact with the natural environment, they can experience the beauty of nature, explore its truths, and cultivate and nurture a love for nature and environmental protection from an early age.

Since its completion and opening on New Year's Day 2000, the ecological style of OCT Ecological Square has been highly praised by leaders and guests at all levels. It has become a model and reception base for urban ecological squares in Shenzhen, as well as the best venue for environmental education and various eco-friendly activities, especially for young people. The park is open all day and can accommodate up to 2,000 people.

OCT is located on the shore of Shenzhen Bay, about 5 kilometers west of downtown Shenzhen. It is only a 15-minute drive from Shanghai Hotel and can be reached by taking various minibuses such as 511, 455, 433, and 423, or buses such as 113, 204, and 223 along Shennan Avenue. OCT Ecological Square is situated in the central part of OCT (on the north side of Shennan Avenue). After getting off at the OCT stop, walk about 5 minutes north to reach the square.
