Shenzhen Bay Park

Shenzhen Bay Park is situated along the southwestern coast of Shenzhen, extending from the Futian Mangrove Bird Nature Reserve in the east to the west side of the Shenzhen–Hong Kong Cross-sea Bridge in the west, bordered by Binhai Boulevard to the north and Shenzhen Bay to the south, with a view across the water to the Mai Po Nature Reserve in Hong Kong. Spanning a coastline of about 11 kilometers and covering a total area of approximately 128.74 hectares, it is the city’s only concentrated coastal leisure belt. The park consists of the already open Mangrove Coastal Ecological Park and the under-construction Shenzhen Bay Coastal Leisure Belt.

The Shenzhen Bay Coastal Leisure Belt is divided into three zones—A, B, and C—and was gradually opened to the public before the opening of the 2011 Universiade, covering an area of about 108.07 hectares (with Section A1 of Zone A already completed and opened to the public in September 2010, spanning approximately 9.05 hectares).

Zone A extends from the west side of the Mangrove Coastal Ecological Park to the mouth of the Dasha River, covering an area of 41.62 hectares. It features the Mid-Bay Sea View Square, Haiyun Park, Egret Slope, North Bay Egret Harbor, and Little Sand Hill. Among them, the Mid-Bay Sea View Square, located in the central part of Shenzhen Bay, offers one of the best vantage points to admire the entire bay.

Zone B stretches from the mouth of the Dasha River to the north side of the Dongbin Road Interchange, covering an area of 10.75 hectares. It includes the Chase Wind Roller Skating Park and Liuhua Mountain. The Chase Wind Roller Skating Park is a dedicated space for young people to enjoy roller skating, featuring a series of circular skating and skateboarding areas linked by a continuous skating path, distributed along the hillside in a well-arranged layout, allowing youths to glide freely with the wind.

Zone C extends from the north side of the Dongbin Road Interchange to the west side of the Shenzhen–Hong Kong Western Corridor Bridge, covering an area of 55.70 hectares. It features the Nanshan Inner Lake Spillway Dam, Crescent Mountain, Nanshan Flood Discharge Box Culvert Butterfly Wing Wall, Sunrise Open-air Theater, Fishing Pier, Wetland Park, Wedding Park, Sea Breeze Sports Park, and Southwest Port Square. The Wedding Park is set to become a dream wedding destination for young people in Shenzhen. At its center lies the circular “Moonlight Garden” main plaza, flanked by a series of outdoor wedding and gathering spaces, with a waterside wedding chapel extending into the sea at the far end. The gathering spaces are paved with soft, natural materials, surrounded by trees and shaded rest pavilions, providing venues for celebrations before and after weddings. Along the 9.06-kilometer coastal leisure belt, 12 themed area parks are planned, all interconnected by a well-developed pedestrian and cycling system. Moreover, Zones A, B, and C fully incorporate the concept of plant culture, organizing nine distinctive botanical landscapes according to their themes: Banyan Shade Coolness, Sunflower Grove Silhouettes, Deep Bay Joyful Rain, Purple Wall Overflowing Colors, Phoenix Dance and Kite Flight, Sweetgrass Ripples, Love Sea Longing, and Tropical Grove Splendor.
