Completed in 1999, the Wall of Ten Thousand Blessings is 130 meters long and 5.67 meters high, located at the southern end of the central square in Fuyong Subdistrict. Made from high-temperature fired red clay pottery, the entire relief is composed of 8,833 individual pieces of pottery, weighing about 110,000 kilograms. It showcases over 10,000 different representations of the Chinese character “福” (blessing), ranging from ancient pictographs to inscriptions on bronze vessels, as well as cursive, clerical, and seal scripts. The collection includes calligraphy from ancient emperors as well as the character “福” by the famed ancient calligrapher Wang Xizhi. It is currently the world’s largest clay relief artwork featuring the most “福” characters. In 2000, it was recorded in the Guinness World Records.
