The Phoenix Mountain Stone Carvings are a Bao’an District cultural heritage site.

The Phoenix Mountain Stone Carvings are located within the Fengyan Ancient Temple in the Phoenix Mountain Forest Park, Phoenix Village, Fuyong Subdistrict, Bao’an District, Shenzhen. They are the only existing cliff stone carving group in Bao’an District, featuring rich content, exquisite carving craftsmanship, and distinct regional characteristics.

The Phoenix Mountain Stone Carvings: A Bao’an District cultural heritage site, located beside the Fengyan Ancient Temple on Phoenix Mountain in the Phoenix Community, Fuyong Subdistrict, Bao’an District. It consists of inscribed steles and cliff carvings such as “Dancing Phoenix,” an excerpt from the Ming Dynasty scholar Zheng Wenbing’s “Autumn Excursion to Phoenix Rock,” “Jingping Pouring Dew,” “Warbler Rock Nodding,” “Liangji Wengong Worshipping the Rock,” “Rice Cooked and Dishes Fragrant,” and “Fragrant Petal Hermitage.” These works were created and engraved from the Ming Dynasty to the Republic of China era. As the only existing stone carving group in Bao’an District, it boasts rich content, masterful carving techniques, distinctive regional features, and holds significant artistic and historical value. In March 2017, it was designated as a Bao’an District cultural heritage site by the Bao’an District People’s Government.

Phoenix Community: The Phoenix Community covers a total area of 9.80 square kilometers, including 4.5 square kilometers of developable land and 5.3 square kilometers within the basic ecological control line, mainly consisting of the Phoenix Mountain Forest Park, Wushan Reservoir, and Qili Reservoir. There are 2.07 hectares of basic farmland within the ecological control zone. The Phoenix Community is currently the largest community in Fuyong Subdistrict, comprising 18 residential groups. By the end of 2014, the community had a permanent registered population of 2,100, predominantly surnamed “Wen,” all descendants of Wen Tianxiang’s nephew—the Southern Song Dynasty national hero and patriotic poet.
