Tomb of Wen Yinglin

The Tomb of Wen Yinglin is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Tomb of Wen Yinglin is located by the Ayu Stream in Mashantou Village, Bao'an District, Shenzhen. It was built during the Yuan Dynasty, renovated in the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, and restored in 1992 by descendants of the Wen clan from Hong Kong and Shenzhen. The tomb is quite large and constructed of granite. The tomb chamber is 6 meters wide and 9 meters deep, with a 1-meter-high gravestone inscribed with “Tomb of the Yuan Dynasty Righteous Gentleman Wen Yinglin.” Wen Yinglin was a patriotic and righteous man, the great-grandnephew of Wen Tianxiang. After the failed resistance against the Yuan Dynasty, he lived in seclusion around Phoenix Rock in Fuyong. Known for his generosity and integrity, he once built the Wangyan Tower (Smoke-Watching Tower), from which he would provide relief to any farming household without smoke rising from its chimney. His virtuous deeds became widely known, earning him the title of “Righteous Gentleman.”
