Xinyi Site

The Xinyi Site is a cultural heritage site protected by Bao’an District.

Xinyi Site: A cultural heritage site under the protection of Bao’an District, located on the hillside northwest of Shiyin Lake in Xinyi Village, Shiyan Subdistrict, Bao’an District. It is a settlement site dating back to the Shang and Zhou dynasties. The site stretches approximately 250 meters from east to west and about 210 meters from north to south, covering an area of around 52,500 square meters. Artifacts collected during cultural relic surveys include polished stone tools, pottery shards with clay impressions, plain sandy pottery shards, pottery dou (stemmed bowls), pottery jars, and other remains. The cultural content of the site spans both the late Neolithic period and the Shang and Zhou dynasties, featuring abundant cultural relics that hold significant value for studying the cultural landscape from the late Neolithic to the Shang and Zhou periods. In September 2010, it was designated as a cultural heritage site under the protection of Bao’an District by the Bao’an District People’s Government.

Shiyan Subdistrict: Established as Shiyan Commune in July 1975, it was restructured as Shiyan District in July 1985, and then reverted to a town called Shiyan Town in October 1986. On January 1, 1993, when Bao’an County was upgraded to Bao’an District, Shiyan Town came under the jurisdiction of Shenzhen’s Bao’an District. On July 1, 2004, Shiyan Town was restructured as Shiyan Subdistrict. In December 2007, the subdistrict established nine community workstations, overseeing 21 community resident committees.

Shiyan Subdistrict is located in the northwest of Shenzhen and the central part of Bao’an District.
