Langxin Ancient Village is a cultural heritage site protected by Bao’an District.

Langxin Ancient Village: A cultural heritage site under the protection of Bao’an District, located in the old section of Langxin within the Langxin Community, Shiyan Subdistrict, Bao’an District. Originally built in the early Qing Dynasty, it has a history of over 270 years. Most of the existing structures date back to the mid-to-late Qing Dynasty. The ancient village faces west and is arranged in an east-west orientation, consisting of ancestral halls, study rooms, residences, and watchtowers, all laid out in an orderly fashion, with a well-preserved drainage system that is still functional today. The residential buildings feature diverse architectural styles, adorned with gray plaster reliefs or murals on ridges, gables, and door lintels, rich in cultural meaning and providing valuable physical materials for the study of Cantonese culture. In October 2007, it was designated as a cultural heritage site under the protection of Bao’an District People’s Government.

Langxin Community: Langxin Community is located in the central part of Shiyan Subdistrict, upstream of the Shiyan Reservoir, adjacent to Huangmabu Community in Xixiang Subdistrict. The total area of the jurisdiction is approximately 12.6 square kilometers, mostly within the secondary water source protection zone. It governs four neighborhood committees: Langxin, Brick Factory, Shinan, and Baoyuan. The registered population is 1,648, with a floating population of about 180,000.
