Bao'an Wenchang Pavilion is a cultural heritage site protected by Shenzhen Municipality.

Wenchang Pavilion: A cultural heritage site protected by Shenzhen Municipality, located to the south of Gushu Village, Gushu Community, Xixiang Subdistrict, Bao'an District. It was built during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty. It underwent multiple renovations in the 12th year of the Tongzhi reign (1873), the 1st year of the Guangxu reign (1875), and the 23rd year of the Republic of China (1934). The structure has a square floor plan, with each side of the ground floor measuring 4.2 meters. It consists of three stories and is approximately 20 meters tall. The base is constructed from granite slabs, while the main body is built with blue bricks. Each level is separated by projecting brick eaves. Atop the pavilion are glazed ceramic qilin statues, surrounded by relief carvings of flowers, plants, trees, and figures. The stone lintels above the doors on the first, second, and third floors are inscribed respectively with “Lian Deng Feng Ge” (Ascending the Phoenix Pavilion), “Geng Shang Yi Ceng” (Climbing Yet Another Level), and “Hui Ji” (Reaching the Summit). Originally, there was a wooden pen-shaped spire at the top, known as the “Wenbi” (Literary Brush). In September 1984, it was designated as a cultural heritage site protected by Shenzhen Municipality by the Municipal People’s Government.

Gushu Community: Gushu Community is situated in the northern part of the subdistrict office, bordered by National Highway 107 to the east, Yantian Community to the south, the Pearl River Estuary to the west, and Sanwei Community to the north, covering a total area of 9.8 square kilometers. Most residents moved into the area during the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. By the end of 2013, there were 1,986 registered residents and over 250,000 temporary residents. Before 1994, it was originally part of Gushu Village, Xixiang Commune, Bao'an County. In 1994, it came under the jurisdiction of Xixiang Town, and after urbanization in 2004, it became Gushu Community (Residents' Committee) of Xixiang Subdistrict.
