Xinyang Chen Clan Ancestral Hall is a cultural heritage site under the protection of Bao’an District.

Xinyang Chen Clan Ancestral Hall: A cultural heritage site under the protection of Bao’an District, located at No. 1, 15th Lane, Xinyang Community, Shajing Subdistrict, Bao’an District. It is a Qing Dynasty–era building, oriented west to east, featuring a layout of three bays, three courtyards, and two skywells. The structure spans 12.7 meters in width and 42.45 meters in depth, and is built with a brick-and-timber structure. The stone plaque above the entrance gate is inscribed with “Chen Clan Ancestral Hall.” The front hall displays a plaque reading “Household Department Official,” inscribed with “First Year of the Xianfeng Reign, Presented Respectfully by Chen Guiji.” The central hall features a plaque inscribed with “Tribute Student,” bearing the inscription “1789 (4th Year of Qianlong Reign), Jiyou Year, Selected Tribute Student, Presented Respectfully by Chen Songling.” The roof truss combines both through-tenon and raised-beam styles. The building has a flush-gable roof, a ship-shaped ridge, red clay tiles, and green-glazed tile ornaments. This structure serves as tangible evidence for the study of ancestral hall architecture in Bao’an District and the history of the Chen clan in Xinyang. In March 2017, it was designated as a cultural heritage site under the protection of Bao’an District People’s Government.
