Liannan Sanpai Yao Village

Sanpai Yao Village is a comprehensive tourist attraction that vividly showcases the origins, history, culture, arts, daily customs, traditional architecture, clothing, folk songs and dances, as well as sports and entertainment of the Panyao ethnic group. Departing from the county town and driving up the mountainous road, visitors are greeted with lush greenery and picturesque mountain scenery, along with occasional sightings of Yao people in traditional ethnic attire making their way along the road. The village is built on a high slope, with rows of houses stacked along the mountain terrain. Within the village there is a small auditorium where Yao residents perform traditional songs and dances for visitors. There is also a waist drum over two meters long in the village, producing an exceptionally resonant sound. Opposite the Yao village lies a vast valley with jagged peaks rising abruptly, resembling a mighty army ready for battle—gazing into the valley gives one the feeling of standing on a command platform reviewing troops, hence the scenic spot is named “Ten Thousand Mountains Paying Homage to the King.” Here, visitors can tour a traditional Yao distillery, sample the rich aroma of Yao rice wine, visit workshops for folk handicrafts, admire the quaint stilted wooden houses (diaojiaolou), see the Yao people’s “natural plumbing”—bamboo pipes crisscrossing overhead like a spiderweb, explore an ancient oil pressing workshop (oil mill), admire the colorful Yao costumes, and appreciate the exquisite embroidery crafted by Yao women.

Sanpai Village: The Sanpai Village Committee is located southeast of the Sanpai Town government, approximately 8 kilometers away. National Highway 107, the Qinglian Expressway, and Provincial Road 261 all run through the village. It borders Jiubei Town of Lianzhou City to the east, Lianshui Village of Sanpai Town to the south, Shancun Village to the west, and Niutouling to the north. Covering an area of 5,782 mu of oil tea fields, it has the largest oil tea cultivation in the entire town. The office is located in Guangming Village.
