Sici Temple Pagoda is a cultural relic protection unit of Guangdong Province.

Sici Temple Pagoda is situated next to Yao ethnic village on Sici Mountain in Dongtang Town. About 50 meters away stands a temple: Sici Temple. Originally named “Xiubao Pagoda,” it later came to be known as “Sici Temple Pagoda.” The Tongzhi-era Renhua County Annals state: “Xiubao Pagoda is located on Sici Mountain, forty li west of the county town. It faces the ancient Yunlong Temple Pagoda from afar, and it is said to be the pagoda of Monk Yangshan… or perhaps built by Yangshan to bless his hometown.”

This pagoda features a square base with seven stories, designed in the form of a pavilion-style brick structure with flat eaves and arched gateways. Inside, there is a solid brick staircase that runs through the center, leading all the way to the top. The exterior is elegant and quaint, embodying the style of Song Dynasty brick pagodas while also reflecting architectural characteristics of Tang Dynasty square pagodas. Research confirms that this pagoda was built in the late Tang and early Song dynasties. Sici Temple Pagoda was listed as a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit in 1979.

In 1979, it was known as Dongtang People’s Commune and was renamed Dongtang Town in 1983. It neighbors Renhua Town to the east, Hongshan Town to the north, Lechang City to the west, and Qujiang District to the south.
