Niubi Village

Niubi Village, located 17 kilometers from Renhua County, is bordered by Danxia Mountain to the northeast, Shaoshi Mountain to the southeast, and Dashishan Mountain to the west. The Jin River wraps around the village, forming a long U-shaped peninsula. The shape of the peninsula resembles a cow’s nose, which is how the village got its name.

Niubi Village is situated in the core area of the Greater Danxia region. Its former name was “Baisha Bay,” derived from the fact that the Jin River encircled the village, forming a large bay where most of the time the river was half water and half sandy beach. The clean, white sandy beach was a distinctive feature of this river bend.
