The former site of the command post of the Renhua Uprising is located at Dongqin Academy in Dongtang Town, Renhua County. Built in the 27th year of the Daoguang reign during the Qing Dynasty (1847), it is a traditional quadrangle courtyard structure made of brick and wood, covering an area of 1,847.2 square meters. In 1926, the Dongtang District Peasant Association was established here. On December 10, 1927, Zhu De and Chen Yi, who were leading the Nanchang Uprising forces during their campaign in southern Hunan, held a joint meeting of military and local cadres here to plan the struggle. In February 1928, the Dongtang District Soviet Government and the Renhua Revolutionary Committee were established here, and on February 13, the Renhua Uprising took place.

Dongtang Town: 1. Geographic Location: Dongtang Town is located 12 kilometers southwest of Renhua County. It administers 16 village committees, 1 neighborhood committee, and 196 village groups. In 1979, it was known as the Dongtang Town People’s Commune, and was renamed Dongtang Town in 1983. It borders Renhua Town to the east, Hongshan Town to the north, Lechang City to the west, and Qujiang District to the south, covering a total area of 192.8 square kilometers, including 29,500 mu of arable land.

2. Natural Environment: Dongtang Town is situated in the mountainous region of northern Guangdong and has a mid-subtropical monsoon climate.
