Fanshi National Mine Park

Guangdong Fanshi National Mine Park is the third national-level mine park approved for construction by the state. It is the third national mine park in Guangdong Province following Shenzhen Fenghuangshan and Shaoguan Furongshan, and also the first national mine park built at an active mining site in the province.

The establishment of Guangdong Fanshi National Mine Park was initiated by the People's Government of Renhua County in August 2011, underwent preliminary review by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Land and Resources in October 2012, was granted qualification as Guangdong Fanshi National Mine Park by the Ministry of Land and Resources in January 2013, officially broke ground in September 2014, and passed the acceptance inspection for the first phase of construction organized by the Ministry of Land and Resources in August 2015.

The planned total area of the park is 4.5 square kilometers, consisting of five zones: camping, rest and recuperation, recreation, reception services, and administrative management. The main park area covers 0.284 square kilometers. Located at the junction of Guangdong, Hunan, and Jiangxi provinces within the Hongshan Forest Nature Reserve in Renhua County, Guangdong Fanshi National Mine Park lies at the strategic crossroads of three major tourist areas: the Danxia Mountain UNESCO Global Geopark, and the ancient historical and cultural village of Shitang in Renhua. It boasts exceptional natural geographical, cultural, and transportation advantages. The park is built around the resource-rich Fanshi Lead-Zinc Mine.

The architecture of Guangdong Fanshi National Mine Park prominently reflects mining characteristics, using abstract forms composed of mining elements such as ore, mine shafts, headframes, buckets, and drills. The main monument in front of the museum stands 12.8 meters tall and 10.8 meters wide, resembling a giant holding up a piece of ore, symbolizing the grandeur of the mining industry.
