Shiyu Spring

Shiyu Spring is a cultural relic protection unit of Guangdong Province.

Shiyu Spring. Located at the eastern base of Hailuo Peak, 1.5 kilometers southwest of Yaotang Village, Huangwu Village Committee, Danxia Subdistrict, Renhua County (within the Danxia Mountain Scenic Area), it faces southeast from the northwest. The spring water originates from a crack in the rock, cascading down to the bottom of the ravine. It was excavated during the late Ming Dynasty by the imperial examination candidates Liu Songtao and Liu Wangfu, brothers who also carved a dragon’s mouth into the stone.

Huangwu Village: Huangwu Village is located in the core area of the Danxia Mountain Global Geopark, and includes 11 villager groups: Buguling, Xiewu, Shuangheshui, Huangwu, Huangwuba, Xin’anba, Laomawu, Xinmawu, Qinghutang, Yaotang, and Duanshi. The village has a total of 638 households and 2,682 residents. The total arable land area is 3,488 mu, and the forested area covers 18,000 mu. In 2014, the per capita rural income was 10,035 yuan.
