Swallow Fairy Rock

Swallow Fairy Rock, also known as Swallow Rock, is located on a massive rocky mountain within the Shangpan Management Area of Beiling Town, Longchuan County. The isolated peak of the mountain hangs in midair, with stone steps reaching into the clouds. The area features exotic flowers and animals, and boasts serene and beautiful scenery. The cave is naturally formed, with spring water dripping through crevices in the stone walls, gradually forming a well. The well water is crystal clear, cool, and sweet. To the left inside the cave, near the rock wall, there is a stone bed known as the “Fairy’s Bed.” According to analysis by archaeologists, it is very likely an ancient human dwelling site.

Throughout history, Swallow Fairy Rock has been a popular site of worship. Though climbing the 425 stone steps to reach it is quite strenuous, visitors come in an endless stream all year round due to the breathtaking scenery and the many fascinating legends associated with the place.
