Huang Ke (1905–1928), courtesy name Xinfa, also known as Xinqiang, was a native of Simajia Village, Tuocheng Town, Longchuan County. In 1922, he devoted himself to the revolutionary movement and engaged in youth activism. In 1924, he was selected to attend the second term of the Guangzhou Peasant Movement Training Institute, where he joined the Communist Party of China. After graduation, he served as a special envoy of the Central Committee of the CPC for peasant affairs, working in the Dongjiang and Beijiang regions to promote labor and peasant movements. In 1927, he participated in the Guangzhou Uprising. After the failure of the uprising, he was tasked with reorganizing the Longchuan Special Branch of the CPC in his hometown and became its secretary. In early February 1928, Huang Ke organized a conference at his ancestral home in Shangyinzhai, Simajia, convening representatives from nearby township peasant associations, the county peasant association, and the peasant self-defense army, establishing the Longchuan County Soviet Government. He was elected chairman of the county Soviet government. He also consolidated revolutionary forces from Simajia, Pingtian, Heshi, Tongqu, Dengyun, and Huangbu into the “First Army of the Dongjiang Workers’ and Peasants’ Revolutionary Army,” serving as the commander-in-chief. On March 10, in coordination with the Dongjiang New Year Uprising, Huang Ke led over 400 armed revolutionaries to capture Heshi, marking the first armed uprising of the workers and peasants in Longchuan. Due to the arrest of a secret informant, the rebel forces received no reinforcement and retreated to Simajia to hold their ground. A few days later, while en route to the Zijin Soviet Area with fellow soldier Huang Dechu, he was captured and taken back to Tuocheng in Longchuan, where he was executed at the age of 23.
