Huang Juren Memorial Room

The Huang Juren Memorial Room (hereinafter referred to as the Memorial Room) is located within the Longchuan County Museum at the foot of the Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery hill in Longchuan County. The Memorial Room was jointly constructed with the County Museum in 1984 following funding allocated by relevant departments of Guangdong Province and a decision made by the Longchuan County Government. The original construction area exceeded 60 square meters, and it was completed in October 1988. On November 25 of the same year, the county government and Party committee grandly held the “Opening Ceremony of the Longchuan County Museum and Unveiling of the Huang Juren Memorial Room.”

Inside the exhibition hall of the Huang Juren Memorial Room, a half-length bronze bust of Huang Juren is installed. Surrounding display cases showcase photocopies of some of his handwritten manuscripts, including work reports and letters he wrote to the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League at the time, as well as articles published in newspapers and periodicals back then, and a selection of publications and newspapers from 1981 onwards that praise him—all serving as tributes to the memory, admiration, and commemoration of martyr Huang Juren. Among the exhibits, the book *Research Materials on Huang Juren*, displayed in the Memorial Room, was co-edited by the Guangdong Provincial Archives and the Guangdong Youth Movement History Research Committee, and published by the Guangdong People's Publishing House in November 1988. This book includes over 270,000 words of revolutionary historical materials related to Huang Juren from 1923 to 1928, reflecting records from the Guangdong Provincial Party and Youth League organizations of the time, as well as the vast majority of work reports, correspondences, and newspaper articles authored by Huang Juren during those years in letters to the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and the Guangdong Provincial Committee. It holds significant reference value for the study of the history of the Communist Party of China, particularly the early history of the Party and Youth League organizations in Guangdong.

In 1995, the Memorial Room was designated as one of the first batch of patriotic education bases in Heyuan City.

Huang Juren (1904–1928) was a native of Qiaotou in Shipeng, Longchuan County. He lost his father at a young age and was raised by his mother. As a child, he received only a few years of schooling. Due to his family’s poverty, he farmed and herded cattle from the age of ten, later becoming an apprentice at a textile factory in Foshan. In the 11th year of the Republic of China (1922), he was admitted to the Dyeing and Weaving program at the First Provincial Advanced Industrial School of Guangdong. By this time, Marxism-Leninism was widely spreading in Guangzhou, and he was influenced by revolutionary ideas.
