The Former Command Post of the Left-Wing Army during the Second Eastern Expedition is a classic site on China’s red tourism routes.

The Fujian Guild Hall is located at No. 39 Huaxin Road, Huaxin Neighborhood Committee, Laolong Town, Longchuan County. Constructed in the Qing Dynasty and oriented from the southeast to the northwest, it was built as a hometown association by Fujianese merchants in Longchuan during that era. The building boasts ingenious architectural design, elaborate carvings, and a classic traditional ambiance. It follows a three-courtyard layout, with walls of rammed gray sand, a flush gable roof, gray tile roofing, and a gray sand floor. The structure is 15 meters wide and 38 meters deep, covering a construction area of 570 square meters. The front eaves of the main gate are supported by two stone pillars, and the door frame, threshold, door pier, and wooden door leaves are all made of bluestone. The central hall features a post-and-lintel roof structure with a fifteen-rafter span; the upper hall has a front porch and stone pillars.

From 1925 to 1927, Peng Pai stayed at the Fujian Guild Hall twice. In the autumn of 1925, the county magistrate of Haifeng, under Chen Jiongming’s command, arrested several leaders of the peasant association. Peng Pai leveraged internal conflicts among the enemies and, together with He Changgong, Lin Wunong, and others, went to Chen Jiongming’s headquarters in Laolong to negotiate the release of the Haifeng-Lufeng peasant association cadres. The Fujian Guild Hall was the site of those negotiations. During the 1925 Eastern Expedition, the left-wing army established its command post at the guild hall, and Lin Boqu (denoted as 0-) also stayed there with the troops. In 1942, during the great rescue operation of Hong Kong cultural figures, the guild hall briefly served as a transit and lodging point for cultural celebrities heading inland. On June 2, 1949, the People’s Government of Longchuan County was officially established at the Fujian Guild Hall. The guild hall holds significant value for the study of historical architecture and art, as well as revolutionary commemorative importance. It was designated as a key cultural relic protection unit of Longchuan County by the county government in 1986, and in 2010, it was listed as one of the third batch of patriotic education bases in Heyuan City.
