In mid-May 1926, after the establishment of the Longchuan County Peasants' Association, in order to meet the needs of the peasant movement, the County Peasants' Self-Defense Army Corps was established at the Zhu Family Ancestral Hall in the county seat in early June. Its purpose was to protect the various revolutionary groups in the county town and ensure the smooth implementation of the "25% rent reduction." Huang Ziqiang, a Longchuan native who graduated from the Guangzhou Peasant Movement Institute, served as the corps commander. The team consisted of over 80 young farmers selected from various districts and township peasant associations, later growing to more than 400 members. After training, the County Peasants' Army Corps was dispatched to various districts and townships, laying the foundation for organizing armed peasant struggles and playing an active role in defending the peasant association government and maintaining social order. The headquarters of the County Peasants' Army Corps was located at the Zhu Family Ancestral Hall in the county town. This ancestral hall was built during the Qing Dynasty, featuring a three-courtyard, quadrangle-style layout with flush gable roofs, covering an area of about 300 square meters. It remains largely well-preserved today. In 2011, the county government allocated special funds for its maintenance and restoration. On September 3, 1986, it was designated as a county-level cultural relics protection unit by the county government; in 2011, it was recognized as the fourth batch of patriotic education bases in Heyuan City.
