The former site of the Rear Dongguang Special Committee of the CPC and the Provincial Party Committee Transport Station is a cultural relic protection unit of Longchuan County, a classic red tourism attraction, and a patriotic education base.

The former site of the Rear Dongguang Special Committee of the CPC and the Provincial Party Committee Transport Station is located in the Huang Ancestral Hall in Shuibei Village, Laolong Town, Longchuan County.

In February 1941, the Rear Dongguang Special Committee of the CPC (historically known as the “Rear Dongguang Special Committee”) was established in a joint building in Shuibei Village, Laolong. Its secretary was Liang Weilin, and it governed the CPC committees of Zijin, Wuhua, Heyuan, Longchuan, Heping, and Xinfeng, with over 1,100 party members. Later, the party organization expanded to border areas such as Xingning and Huiyang, covering a population of 1.7 million. That winter, Huang Yongshu, an underground CPC member (also the head of the Laolong District under the Kuomintang and a native of Shuibei Village), initiated the establishment of the Xingguang Dyeing and Weaving Factory within the village’s Huang Ancestral Hall. Under the guise of revitalizing local industry and to secure funding and supplies for party activities, he led fundraising efforts. Using the factory’s legitimate public identity as cover, revolutionary activities were carried out. The factory served both as the headquarters of the Rear Dongguang Special Committee and as the concealed site of the transport station operated by the Guangdong North Provincial Committee of the CPC in Laolong (with Lan Xuncai, the station chief, also serving as the factory manager).

The Huang Ancestral Hall was built during the Qing Dynasty. It features a two-courtyard quadrangle layout with flush gable roofs and houses six rooms and two halls, covering an area of approximately 300 square meters. In the 1990s, with funding from villagers and support from relevant government departments, the ancestral hall was renovated, and a “Revolutionary Struggle History Monument” was erected beside its main gate (with the inscription written by Zhong Junxian, former special commissioner of the Rear Dongguang Special Committee). The walls of the main hall display introductions to the Rear Dongguang Special Committee and its revolutionary history. The ancestral hall is currently used by the Shuibei Village Committee.

In September 1986, it was designated as a key cultural relic protection unit by the Longchuan County Government. In November 1995, it was recognized as a patriotic education base by the Heyuan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government.
