The site was originally built in the mid-Qing Dynasty, covering an area of approximately 3,000 square meters, and was once the ancestral home of the Li family’s Qichang branch — the Longjing House. It was restored to its original appearance in 2010 and 2013. In 2014, it was designated as a county-level cultural heritage conservation unit by Longchuan County.

During the Great Revolution period, Li Yunshan, a native of Xiaocan Village who studied in Guangzhou, was influenced by the revolutionary movement there. He organized the “Xiaocan Farmers' Association” in his village, mobilizing impoverished peasants to carry out a “25% rent and interest reduction” campaign and fighting against local landlords, which spurred the development of peasant movements in the surrounding areas of Xie’ao. Between 1929 and 1933, the Central Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army led by Mao Zedong established the Central Revolutionary Base Area in southern Jiangxi and founded the Chinese Soviet Republic. Influenced by the revolution, individuals such as Li Yunshan and Li Shaowen secretly contacted the Red Army in the Soviet Area (Anyuan). Following instructions from the Soviet Party organization, they organized a salt transport team and used Yixiang Tower (the Longjing House) as a storage facility for salt. For over two years, they transported salt and other daily necessities to the Soviet revolutionary base. In the second half of 1933, Li Yunshan, Li Bingwen, Li Kunlin, and others were arrested while loading salt at Sanxikou. The salt storage (Longjing House) was sealed off, privately hidden salt was confiscated, and dozens of people in the Longjing House were detained inside for a week, resulting in the death by starvation of several children.

Xie’ao Town: Xie’ao Town is located in the northern part of Longchuan, within a high-altitude mountainous region. It borders Dingnan County in Jiangxi Province and faces Heping County of the same city across the Dong River, situated at the junction of two provinces and four counties. It has a total population of 21,000 and covers an area of 143 square kilometers. The town is 110 kilometers away from the county seat.

The entire town features overlapping mountains and beautiful landscapes. The Zhuzhangzhang Peak rises to 1,300 meters, making it the second highest peak in the county. Climbing peaks such as Jinshizhang, Zhumengzhang, Huoxingzhang, and Xianjudong also offers the sensation of “a golden plate surrounded by pearls.”
