Huilong Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument

The Huilong Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument is located at Hengganggen, Dongbeicun, in Huilong Town, Longchuan County, Heyuan City, Guangdong Province.

Built in 1962, the Huilong Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument faces southeast and is situated to the northwest. It has a square obelisk shape, constructed from blue bricks and finished with cement stucco. The base is square-shaped with each side measuring 3 meters. The entire monument is approximately 10 meters high and consists of three sections. The first section features an inset chronicle of revolutionary activities in Longchuan County on its front facade. The second section is shorter and bears no inscriptions, while the third section is square-obelisk shaped with the engraved inscription “Eternal Glory to the Revolutionary Martyrs” on its front face. A lightning rod tops the monument. During the Agrarian Revolutionary War, Datangdu Village in Huilong Town once served as the revolutionary hub for Wuhua, Xingning, and Longchuan counties. The Wuxinglong County Soviet Government was established there, and revolutionary struggles were carried out. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the monument was built to commemorate the revolutionary martyrs who bravely sacrificed their lives during the agrarian revolutionary struggle.
