Yong'an Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument

Yong'an Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument is located on a small hilltop in Yong'an Village, Xixian Town, Longchuan County, Heyuan City, Guangdong Province.

It was built in December 1957 and underwent two renovations, on August 1, 1982, and January 4, 2006. The monument faces south and has a square, pointed shape. The base is square with sides 2.5 meters long. The upper part is divided into two sections, with the lower section being a square column. The front side is inlaid with plaques engraved with the life stories of 11 revolutionary martyrs, including Liu Jianlong, Liu Jinxian, and Wu Weigen. The back features an inscription summarizing the revolutionary history of Xixian Town. The upper part of the monument is square and pointed, with "Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument" inscribed in relief on the front and back, and "Eternal Glory to Revolutionary Heroes" on the left and right sides. The surrounding area of the monument is enclosed by an octagonal brick wall. The entire monument covers an area of 50.4 square meters. During the Agrarian Revolutionary War, under the leadership of Li Datian, commander of the Advance Team in Southern Jiangxi, a Soviet government was established in Huangmabu Township (now Yong'an), and a group of local young revolutionaries joined the revolutionary cause and devoted themselves to the struggle. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the local government and people built the monument to commemorate martyrs such as Liu Jianlong who sacrificed their lives during the Agrarian Revolutionary War.
