The former site of the guerrilla arms factory of the Rear Dongguang Special Committee during the Anti-Japanese War period is located at Zhangwu in Nankeliao, Zhanghong Village, Zhenzhen Town, Longchuan County.

After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, the Rear Dongjiang Special Committee was established in Laolong. Following its establishment, the Rear Dongguang Special Committee implemented the central Party’s guideline of “remaining concealed, maintaining a lean force, lying low for the long term, building up strength, and waiting for the right opportunity.” Based on the actual conditions of the Kuomintang-controlled rear areas of the Dongjiang Anti-Japanese resistance, the committee organized various levels of study and training activities in Longchuan for the backbone members of the Party organizations in the counties under the jurisdiction of “Rear Dong.” During this period, multiple training sessions were held at Zhangwu in Nankeliao, Zhenzhen Town. In 1944, to strengthen the anti-Japanese weaponry, the Rear Dongguang Special Committee decided to establish an arms factory in Nankeliao to manufacture weapons, ammunition, and repair firearms. At that time, Nankeliao also hosted an intelligence and communication station, a radio station, and published anti-Japanese propaganda materials such as the newspaper “Spark.” Liang Weilin, Secretary of the Rear Dongguang Special Committee, often stayed in Nankeliao, leading the Party organizations of the counties along the upper Dongjiang River in conducting anti-Japanese propaganda and Party activities.

Zhenzhen Town: Located at the southernmost tip of Longchuan County, Zhenzhen Town currently administers nine administrative villages and one neighborhood committee, with a total population of 31,463. It serves as a rural commodity distribution hub on the border of Longchuan, Wuhua, and Dongyuan counties. The town covers an area of 112 square kilometers, with 11,000 mu of arable land and 140,000 mu of forested mountain land, including 45,000 mu suitable for growing tea and plum. The Qimuzhang Peak within its jurisdiction, standing at an elevation of 1,318 meters, is the highest peak in northeastern Guangdong, with 12,000 mu of pristine forest coverage. In 2005, the estimated total output value of industry and agriculture was 124.71 million yuan, with an average rural per capita income of 4,432 yuan.
