The former site of the Farmers' Association in the Tenth District of Longchuan County is located at Huaguang Temple in Chetian Town, Longchuan County.

After the establishment of the Longchuan Special Branch in 1925, it actively promoted the farmers’ movement. By December that year, Farmers' Associations had been successively established in the first district (county town), third district (Heshi), and tenth district (Chetian), where the movement had a relatively solid foundation. The Tenth District Farmers' Association was established at Huaguang Temple in Chetian, with Wu Yahai serving as the association chairman. Committee members included: Deng Hongqin, Peng Chixia, Deng Xiangping, Deng Juqing, Peng Siqiang, Chen Zhenfu, Chen Xinru, Peng Yongling, Chen Guilin, Deng Yalin, and others. The activities of the Farmers' Association had a positive impact on the subsequent development of the revolutionary struggle in Longchuan County and laid a solid mass foundation. On April 13, 1949, leaders of the East Second Detachment of the Guangdong–Jiangxi–Hunan Border Column of the People’s Liberation Army, including Zheng Qun and Lin Jingqiu, led troops into Chetian, declaring its liberation and establishing the Chetian Township People’s Government. Chetian was the first area in Longchuan to be liberated.

In September 1986, it was designated as a key cultural relic protection unit by the Longchuan County Government.

The town government is based in Chetian Street, which is 67 kilometers from the county seat. The town covers a total area of 312.02 square kilometers, including 47,612 mu of arable land, 39,927 mu of paddy fields, and 300,000 mu of mountainous terrain. It is a hilly region with higher elevation in the north and lower in the south, and is home to the Chetian River.
