Balqirud Temple

Balqirud Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Located in Dalanhua Gacha, Balqirud Sumu, Ar Horqin Banner. Built in the 28th year of the Kangxi reign (1689), it originally had 8 main halls, of which 2 remain today. There have been 6 reincarnations of the Living Buddha (Gegen). At its peak, the temple hosted up to 800 worshippers. The surviving structures of Balqirud Temple are the largest in floor area and best preserved among temples in Ar Horqin Banner. The “Mila Cham” dance was created by the fifth Living Buddha, Lobzang Phurlee Jamsu, based on the life story of Mila, and differs significantly from cham dances performed at other temples. The temple’s exquisite ancient architectural complex, including its layout, style, carvings, decorations, and craftsmanship, holds high artistic value.
