Han Mountain Natural Scenery Tourist Area
The Han Mountain Natural Scenery Tourist Area is located in the northern part of Ar Horqin Banner, 175 kilometers from the banner government seat. Covering a total area of 1.468 million mu, it lies at the junction of the southern foothills of the Greater Khingan Mountains and the edge of the Horqin Sandy Land. It is a natural secondary forest area and also a comprehensive tourist zone dedicated to protecting rare wildlife and the diverse ecosystems they depend on, including forests, grasslands, and wetlands. The area boasts beautiful natural surroundings and rich biodiversity, featuring a variety of complex landscapes such as mountains, forests, bare rocks, wetlands, rivers, and grasslands. In 2006, it was designated as a national nature reserve. The surrounding regions of Han Mountain have been the ancestral home of the Mongolian people for generations, where traditional lifestyles and production methods are still preserved. Traditional sports and festivals such as the “Grassland Nadam Fair,” “Ovoo Worship,” “Ar Horqin Tribal Wedding,” and “Ar Horqin Folk Songs” allow visitors to experience the industrious, brave, warm, and unrestrained spirit of the Mongolian people. Visitors to the area can also enjoy natural green foods, dried fruits, fresh fruits, wild vegetables, mushrooms, and various forest by-products.
