South Tower Temple is located in Changning Town, Boluo County, Huizhou City, on Mount Luofu, one of China’s Top Ten Taoist Mountains. Originally named Yanxiang Temple, it was built during the Datong era of Emperor Wu of the Liang Dynasty by the renowned Master Jingtai. For over a thousand years, South Tower Temple has been home to many notable figures, and countless celebrities have visited the site. The Southern Song poet Lu You visited Mount Luofu twice and even composed the verse, “The Stone Tower is seen rising from the clouds, but who would know that the fairy isle comes from the sea?” — the "Stone Tower" here refers to South Tower Temple on Shilou Peak.

The main peak, Feiyun Top, stands at an elevation of 1,296 meters, covering a total area of approximately 260 square kilometers. The area boasts clear streams, clusters of waterfalls, and valleys where the rocks have been shaped by the flow of water into various forms of different sizes. The environment is pristine, picturesque, with crystal-clear streams, lush vegetation lining both sides of the valley, and thick vines. The occasional chirps of birds or calls of insects add to the tranquility of the place.

Changning Town: Located in the eastern part of the Pearl River Delta and the western part of Boluo County, Changning Town lies at the foot of Mount Luofu, known as the “Number One Mountain in Lingnan.” It is traversed by the Guangzhou–Shanwei and Guangzhou–Meizhou highways, and the Guangzhou–Huizhou Expressway has an interchange in the town, providing convenient transportation. The town covers a total area of 117 square kilometers with a population of 41,000. It administers one neighborhood committee, 14 village committees, and 173 villager groups.
