On the western side of Nankun Mountain lies an open area where a two-story pavilion stands. In the pavilion is a simple stone platform, rising abruptly from the mist, giving visitors a strong sense of breathing in the essence of heaven and earth. This is the so-called “Nine-Tiered Vista.” It is said to have been built specifically for visitors to climb high and take in the breathtaking beauty of the Nankun mountain range. Standing on the pavilion, in overcast or rainy weather, you can see layers of mountain ridges with thick fog swirling around the peaks; on a clear and sunny day, looking into the distance, near and far mountains stretch endlessly, with more mountains beyond, all set against a backdrop of emerald bamboo, lush trees, peculiar peaks, and strange rocks—all within view.

The name “Nine-Tiered Vista” lives up to its reputation. From here, you can gaze out at nine peaks, one tier, two tiers, three tiers, four tiers… nine layers of mountains extending all the way to the horizon. One can only imagine how many natural mysteries and enchanting sceneries lie hidden among those ranges. The viewing platform is surrounded by dense woods, with undulating waves of forest and bamboo sounds, resembling flowing tides swaying in the wind. Gazing into the distance, the mountain ranges surge forward, layer upon layer; viewed from afar to near, their majestic presence is overwhelming, easily counted as they approach. The view unfolds in nine grand tiers. Hence, the name “Nine-Tiered Vista.”
