Next to a bustling construction site stand these three trees—two banyan trees and one longan tree. The oldest banyan is over 200 years old. This construction site is part of China’s largest joint venture project to date—the CNOOC and Shell Petrochemicals Company Limited (CSPC) Nanhai Petrochemicals Project. These three ancient trees have witnessed the dramatic changes in Daya Bay and the development of the CSPC Nanhai Petrochemicals Project. A must-see major project when visiting Daya Bay, and a must-visit spot when seeing this major project—the “Three Trees Viewing Platform” has become a new highlight of tourism in Daya Bay.
