The air carries the fragrance of the mountains and forests, with hints of sweet floral scents mixed in the grassy aroma. Arriving at the beautiful Hua Zi Zai (Flowers at Ease), the pleasant and unhurried vibe instantly puts you at ease. As dusk falls, the garden is bathed in soft light, creating a serene atmosphere that makes you feel as if you've wandered into a painting — an unexpected delight during your travels.

In the corridor, an iron kettle simmers on a charcoal brazier, while tea utensils sit on a wooden table. The host, exuding leisure, becomes part of the garden scene — an atmosphere of complete ease, a rare luxury in travel. The owner, Lin Huieyong, is both a food connoisseur and designer who single-handedly created this secret garden tucked away on a country road in Miaoli. Visitors are always amazed by the beauty of the grounds.
Sunlight spills over casually placed rattan chairs, while the breeze stirs the shadows of trees. The air feels free and easy. Stroll along the wooden boardwalk across the grass, and you'll discover wooden cabins hidden within the greenery. The rustic charm of the logs, the tranquility of birdsong and insect chirps, the glow of the setting sun, and the star-studded night skies — a vacation should be just like this. The resort’s four standalone wooden cabins are scattered throughout the property, each with a private walkway leading to its own terrace. The large rattan chairs beside the paths and the wooden hanging chairs at the room entrances are the perfect spots for travelers to unwind and relax. This peaceful seclusion brings the essence of tranquility to life.

Stepping inside, the high-ceilinged wooden cabin offers an unusually spacious layout. There’s no TV in the room — instead, there’s the luxury of a large bed placed right in the center, dressed in premium handmade silk bedding, ensuring guests enjoy an exceptionally comfortable stay. By the window is a panoramic Japanese-style living area. Through the full-length windows, the garden greenery fills the room. Whether you’re having tea, chatting, or simply sitting quietly, every corner of the room feels cozy and down-to-earth.
Separated by glass sliding doors, the other half of the room is a semi-open bathroom with a view of the spacious backyard. To help guests fully unwind, a large round bathtub is partially embedded in the floor. Along with handmade soaps and bath products, guests can also enjoy a soothing herbal bath. After a delicious dinner and a stroll in the garden, soak in the tub under the quiet night sky for a deeply relaxing sleep.

Additionally, the reservation-only Zen-inspired meals are highly recommended. Emphasizing slow dining, service is unhurried, but the uniquely flavorful Hakka cuisine is abundant, made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. Here, you can enjoy delicious food accompanied by stunning natural scenery — truly a blissful experience.
