Rezhe Hot Spring

Rezhe Hot Spring is a natural bathing spot cherished by the people of Pingyuan for generations. Since the late Qing Dynasty, Rezhe was divided into two townships: Reshui (Hot Water) and Xiaozhe (Little Rezhe), with the Reshui Township government located at Youshu Market and the Xiaozhe Township government situated at Xiaozhe Palace Pavilion. The spring water here is clear and warm, with temperatures around 50°C—moderately hot and abundant in supply. In the past, there was a temple by the spring called Yuehu Temple. The fragrant incense from the temple and the gurgling hot spring in the lake formed a famous scenic sight known as “Bathing at Yuehu.” To this day, a folk song is still passed down: “Reshui has a hot spring lake, where the waters flow day and night; bathe here twice in three days, and skin sores and rashes will vanish on their own.” This has attracted numerous visitors who come specifically for its reputation.

Chetian Town: Chetian Town is located at the southernmost tip of Pingyuan County, 14 kilometers from the county seat. National Highway 206 runs north-south through the town, bordering Shishan and Meixi in Meixian County to the east, west, and south, respectively, and Daping Town to the south. It connects to Rezhe Town, Dazhe Town, and Chaozhu Town within the county to the north, and neighbors Shizheng Town to the northwest. The town covers an area of 69 square kilometers, comprising 8 village committees and 59 villager groups. By the end of 2003, the town had 2,321 households and a population of 9,311, including 2,061 agricultural households and 8,719 agricultural residents.
