Jili Residence

A model of traditional Meizhou residences—Jili Residence is located on Gongyanshang in Pan坑 Village, Sanjiao Town, Meijiang District. In 1913, Xiong Yingxian, an overseas Chinese from Malaysia, returned from Malacca to purchase the land and build this house. The building faces southeast and is situated northwest, structured as a two-hall, two-wing, one-attached-section, covered corridor-style enclosed-dragon house. It has two floors, a total of 30 rooms, and covers an area of 1,790 square meters. Jili Residence combines ancestral worship and residence functions, featuring an elegant and classic design with rational architectural planning. It holds high value for the study of the traditional Hakka residential architecture culture in downtown Meizhou.
