Lianhui Building

Lianhui Building is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Guangdong Province.

Lianhui Building, located at No. 36 Yangkeng, Ganguang Village, Chengbei Town, Meijiang District. It was built in 1925 by overseas Chinese Li Bingzhang. The building combines tradition with unique creativity, featuring a modern Western style, and holds significant value for the study of Meizhou’s Hakka architecture that blends Chinese and Western elements, Hakka traditional culture, and the history of overseas Chinese. Lianhui Building faces southwest from the northeast and consists of a courtyard (including a basement), main hall, wing rooms, and side rooms, totaling 108 rooms. Its most distinctive feature is a square clock tower built at the northeast corner, known as the “Star-Picking Tower,” also called the “Star-Picking Pavilion.”

Ganguang Village: Located in Meijiang District, Meizhou City. Ganguang Village comprises 14 villager groups, with 351 registered households and a population of 1,541. The village covers a total area of 6.53 square kilometers, including 1,008 mu of arable land. The average annual temperature is 21.2°C, and annual precipitation is about 1,473 mm. The main cash crop is rice, and the village’s featured economic income comes from flowers. The total rural economic income of Ganguang Village in the previous year was 16.85 million yuan.
